How to change the default language of comments?

    Hello everyone,

I asked my students to send me their French compositions by email using Word documents.

I'm commenting those compositions by adding comments (in French) in the files.

My problem is that, for each file, I have to change the default language of comments from English to French (9 clicks).
    Home/Manage Styles/Modify.../Format/Language.../French (France)/OK/OK/OK

Is it possible to create a macro for this so that I can make the change in one click?

    Thank you very much.

    J.G.

PS: I don't understand much about VBA.
PPS: Sorry for my bad English.

If you need to type something in French why not just add a French keyboard layout. Then you can easily switch from English to French by using Alt-Shift.

Re: How to change the default language of comments?

    Hello AlKey,

    Thanks for answering.

I already have a French keyboard layout. The problem is that, when I type French whereas the default language is English, 1) all words are marked as misspelt, 2) some words are automatically "corrected" to the "right" English spelling.

So I suppose there is no possibility to create a macro that changes the default language of comments from a language to another... Right?

    J.G.

PS: I found a 4-click solution by creating a Style Set:
    1) Home/Manage Styles/Modify.../Format/Language.../French (France)/OK/OK/OK/Format/Language.../French (France)/OK/OK/OK
    2) Home/Change Styles/Style Set/Save as Quick Style Set...
So, now, I just have to click on: Home/Change Styles/Style Set and then to click on the name of my style set. Better than nothing...

    Hi J.G.

To remedy the situation I think you might need to install Office Language pack to or proofing tools that come with it. I myself use two languages on my PC without any issues but it is possible that your setting are somewhat different than mine.

    Best regards,

    Alex
