I am trying to create a macro that will block the possibility to edit the historical text and only allow to add the new one. To explain in more detail: we are trying to replace our existing log book (paper version) with an electronic one. We have three shifts (morning, late , night) and the idea is that at the end of the shift supervisor will fill the log so that the next person can read it. It is however crucial to prevent historical data from being modified (perhaps password protected or something). Ideally I would like to create a macro button that once you press it, it is no longer possible to edit historical text.

Is something like that possible to do in word or maybe excel ? Or maybe you have a better idea of doing this?
