VBA to find and replace odd or non-standard characters

I sometimes find strange characters in text I open in Word. I'll attach a file showing an example of the sort of symbol I mean.

It often shows itself in random and mysterious sets.

For example :

I've tried to search and replace these , but often I get reports of not found , or else Word misinterprets them and deletes different characters entirely.

Can someone suggest some VBA to run through and delete these unwelcome intruders?
