Problems with my template page, Inconsistent changes when changing styles

Hi guys,

I have attached a copy of a template page I am working on.

I have a few problems however.

ie. if I make changes to Style "List Paragraph" I would expect a similar change to Styles "List Para Head 1, List Para Head 2, List Para Head 3" etc.


And similarly "List Paragraph" is based on "Normal", so I would expect changes to "List Paragraph".

however when I play around with normal (and update the normal style to reflect the changes), I notice a lot of strange things happening . Some Styles change to reflect "Normal", others do not, the vast majority of them should change as they're based on "Normal". I have a feeling multi-level lists are interfering?


I am interested in learning how to fix these mistakes, so any information about what I have done wrong/what buttons I should/shouldn't be pressing /etc would be the most welcome
