Start Footnotes in section with number higher than 1 [Word 2013]

    Hi everyone,

I have a large document with several sections, where e.g., section 1 and 3 belong together, interrupted by section 2.
Footnotes in section 1 and 3 shall therefore be numbered consecutively, while section 2 has its "own" footnotes from 1 to x.

For example, section 1 has footnotes 1 to 3, section 2 from 1 to 5, and I want section 3 to have footnotes from 4 to 8.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks a lot and
    kind regards
    Florian

That is not how footnotes work. You can have them numbered sequentially throughout the document or to re-start on each page or with each new Section. You cannot mix the numbering schemes. You may, however, be able to approximate what you want by using endnotes for Section 2, with the endnotes placed at the end of the Section.
