Tip: Pasting Text from Internet to Excel

    Hi All,

I have just solved a query I posted on the Excel General forum.

If you want to paste text data from the internet to excel, the internet provider you use makes all the difference.

If you use Internet Explorer, your data will end up in one excel column only, which will make it difficult to do calculation work.

If you use Firefox or Google Chrome, your data will spread out over a number of columns making it much easier to calculate on.

For more details, see below original query. (Read entries 1 and 9).

I hope someone finds this of use.

how pasted text is parsed can also be dependent on the last use of Text to columns.

Isn't it just? This drove me mad all the time when copying from SSMS until I realised that at some point I'd used a random delimiter in ext to Columns
