Generally, people do not need to keep data around forever. I wrote this little ditty a while back and recently updated it.
It will move files from one directory to another after a certain number of days or simply delete them if the directory to move them to is left blank.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
