    Forum Rule #7

Re the recent addition to Mod/Admin requests to OPs along the lines of:

"This thread should receive no further responses until this moderation request is fulfilled, as per Forum Rule 7"

Good idea! Should reduce the number of "infractions" considerably!

Yes, but only if it is seen/noticed. You would still need to refresh the thread if you've spent some time working on the solution.

I'd be suprised if any infractions have been given out for people deliberately breaking rule #7.

Perhaps not "deliberately", but this contributor is someone who got one for that very reason!

Yes, I wanted to limit google hits for searching "yudlugar" to this forum, so I asked for it to be changed.

    That's true.

I would never give an infraction for this in the first instance, only for persistent infringement. I'd be inclined initially to post another response in the thread - giving the offender the chance to explain/retract/ apologise. To my mind that's sensible moderating, rather than making a small issue into a bigger one.

I think a lot of that used to happen ... not so much now, AFAIAA.

@Fotis: not sure I understand the question

I am not aware of as many infractions being doled out these days ... at least, I'm not noticing them so much on the profiles. And it's a long while since I had one, but I'm pretty sure all the people that were giving them out (to me) are not active on the forum these days. And maybe I get treated more gently ... ?

One ** the things I like about this form is that it is friendly. Personally when I notice (usually the missing code tags) I PM the poster to tell them but I don't want to upset the flow ** my response. Things seem to be more moderate now but a few years ago after a spate ** over authoritarian actions by a mod I decided to stay away. It was three years later I came back.
