For the avatar you need 100 posts which you have managed and also you need to be registered for 60 days.

Thanks. Do you know at what level your signature expands past 50 characters?
I don't sorry but I've just checked mine and I can have more characters so aim for 400+ posts, 130+ days and 150+ rep.
