So, should I take this that us lowly 'Forum Experts' don't have canned replies anymore? Or is this a glitch?

Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.
I am the real 'Napster'

My Canned Replies still existed, but they were no longer shared. I had to open each one individually and share again. If the others whose replies aren't shared again soon, we'll recreate them.
@JapanDave - lowly Experts is an unfortunate characterization. That's on you, not on the quality of the title Expert. Are you going to point to that on every topic and every time something comes up you don't like? I hope not, beside being irrelevant, it's tiresome and makes one look...well, whiny. Just a tip.
"What's going on with the Canned Replies?" << same topic, no whiny. (thumbs up)
EDIT: Yes, you are free to present your opinions, I'm merely pointing to the effect it may be having, the opposite of what you probably want. If you want to sound this way, do disregard my suggestion.

I don't really care what I 'look' like on the forum, as you probably may already know.
I am just rather disappointed that the rep points mean next to nothing now.
So what is you opinion on the rep system them Jerry? If they don't count for much, what good is 'Forum Expert' status?
why do you say the rep system counts for nothing now? seems unchanged to me
as for "forum expert" you're in pretty illustrious company, don't ya think? :-) (be easier to tell if the member list worked I guess)

A little drop down box above quick reply that lets you put pre-written text into your answer - mainly moderatory things like cross-posting, but also stuff like how to put code in a standard module etc..
The canned replies are back.
If I have helped, Don't forget to add to my reputation (click on the star below the post)
Don't forget to mark threads as "Solved" (Thread Tools->Mark thread as Solved)
Use code tags when posting your VBA code:
Your code here
There are still some missing - no standard module?
That was my personal one, i didnt know it was shared
Well, have put it back. That went missing too.
I have made the correction in your post for you this time, as a courtesy. Please remember in your future posts. This has merely been a harmless warning to underline the importance that you read and follow the Forum Rules we are all expected to abide.
Thank you for your understanding and compliance. Happy Excel-ling. <---I don't see a point to this one!
Your post does not comply with Rule 7 of our Forum RULES. Please do not ignore requests by Administrators, Moderators and senior forum members regarding forum rules.
If you are unclear about the request or instruction then send a private message to them asking for clarification. Do not post a reply in a thread where a moderator has requested an action that has not yet been complied with e.g Title change or Code tags...etc <--- I don't see a point in this one either, I'm not a moderator.
That is all![]()

Can I make up my own canned replies and save them? Can I delete existing canned replies that are not really applicable to me? I haven't looked into this and wouldn't mind doing that if possible.
Mordred,
When the canned messages got deleted, JB shared his own. So some which you are seeing are his. I will ask him to unshare those so you will get only the generic ones.
You can check under UserCP - Canned replies and check if you are able to add new ones.
Thanks arlu, I didn't know JB shared all of his with us.
I shared mine...months ago. The Canned Replies provide boilerplate text as a BASIS for speeding up a common reply. As I see others using my replies over the months, I'll leave them shared.
When you activate a canned reply, you should of course tweak it for your use before pressing submit.
Let me make it easy for you. I hate soccer. I have no patience for the game, no love, nor any desire to spend time on it. So I am completely unimpressed by nor moved by soccer trophies. Any trophy, be it a name like "champion" or an actual physical trophy. It's all moot to me.
The way you speak of the Expert status you have legitimately earned, and the rest of us respect, seems to be your soccer trophy. If you continually disdain it the way you do, then there is little point to "cheering it" in your direction, is there? You don't like it, don't care, sneer at it publicly. We get it.
As such, the only meaningful response I have for you is: "Go back to helping Excel OPs with their questions, that's what the forum is really for anyway."
Meanwhile, I'm curious as to what you think is different now with the rep points vs 6 months ago. Now they can lead to an extra benefit on the forum, for what it is. Before they did not.
Don't let that stop you. I had my own set of "Canned Replies" years ago. I have a notepad window with hundreds of snippets I refer to all the time, many of which are quickly-copied boilerplate text.![]()

Jerry, I still have a bunch of them in an excel file that I use from time to time
Just copy/paste and edit if needed
Thanks for the pointer JB, I was able to add one.
@Fotis - did you get a new title? If so, congratulations! Or should I say: Συγχαρητήρια! (Google translate is the best)
Brendan.

Things to consider:
1) You can thank any poster by clicking the * at the left of a helpful post.
2) You can help to keep the forum tidy by marking your thread as "Solved", if it has been answered to your satisfaction.
3) Help us to help you, by uploading a sample workbook, showing the type of data you're dealing with, and clearly indicating what the results should be.
Thanks Brendan!
Yes and when i'll grow up(as now i have my own button-See post#18) i want to become a Forum Guru!!![]()
Fotis,
Do not delete the shared canned replies. You should be able to delete your own canned replies (which you created).
Thanks Arlette. Yes i see that i can create & delete my own replies. But as most of the shared canned replies are replies that usually Mods use, have no utility for me. Just why i asked..![]()
Yes, but if you delete it (if you are able to), it will vanish for everyone else.
OK. Understand BUT don't worry about this. Even if i want to do this, the system does not allow to me to do this!!![]()
Just a small comment on this one ...
Array formula
Isn't it more conventional to write CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, rather than CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER?...confirmed by pressing CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER to activate the array. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.
Sure. If its better why not? I am not sure who that canned message belongs to. Are you able to edit it Marcol? If no, let me know and i can do it.
Hi, Arlette,
JB. I think we only have the rights to view and apply the replies (except for our own which are not in discussion here)
Holger
Use Code-Tags for showing your code:
Your Code here
Please mark your question Solved if there has been offered a solution that works fine for you
It's one of Jerrys' shared canned replies, I don't think I can edit it.
Even if I could I would be wary of doing so, I've never used the option before and in view of recent "glitches" I will leave it that way!
Might I suggest it reads
Array Formula
CSE array formula confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, not just ENTER, to activate the array.
You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula.
If you do not use CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error, or a clearly incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.
(stumbling....chuckling...not offended in the least... always amused)
obviously drunk if you keep stumbling like that!
If they make that change then why not make this substantive change:

Hmm? without a doubt yor suggestion is more informative, my suggestion is in post #32, feel free to knock it ...
All I was pointing out was that to me "-" (minus) means subtract.
If NASA subtituted "+" for "-" arbitrally would they ever got a rocket to the moon? Or did they really ...
Then again I'm not a rocket scientist ...![]()
Your post just gave me another opportunity to bring attention to the canned array reply.
If you followed the link then you might have noticed that there are no replies to my post (other than my own reply).
So... I'll just continue to use my own "canned" reply.
