arlu and inayat, there's a real world out there. Seeing that you're both from Bangalore, you could actually step away from the computer and meet in person within a few minutes.
Gasp.
You could both bring a sheet of paper and a pen, sit in a cafe and write messages on each other's papers. That would be almost like being online. You wouldn't even have to configure skype to talk to each other. And the live image of your faces would stream in real time, no bandwidth limitation.

Wasn't the last Easter Egg in Excel 2000? By the time I knew anything about them it was too late.
And to answer the original question yes I'm on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and just about everything else out there but I tend to keep my forum identity mostly separate from 'real life'.

I'm on Facebook, but I have friends on there who I honestly wouldn't recognise should I bump into them in the street.

FB is still the best way to keep in touch with people you don't want to keep in touch with.
I try to keep mine to just people I really am friends with rather than any Tom, **** and Harriet. I recently got rid of most of my old work colleagues and people I was at school with as in the majority I couldn't give two hoots what they are up to.
That being said I spent an hour chatting with an ex from fifteen years back on there this lunch time (she still looks fit so thought it's worth keeping on the right side of her).

This made me laugh - it reminded me of being on the phone to my bank or isp.
