Suggestion for the board

I know we encourage people to search here and that we'll never know how many actually find their answers without having to post their questions, but it seems that a very large proportion of the non-programming questions (I stay away from the VBA side of Excel if I can help it) revolve around Sumproduct/Sumifs and Vlookup or Index/Match.

DO has links in his sig to help people, but I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to either make links to these topics more obvious on the site or put a good tutorial on here for each of them.

There's a sticky thread in the Worksheet functions forum with links to helpful resources. Maybe we should come up with a few more stickies for each forum ....

I've seen that thread and I know it's gotten a lot of views, but perhaps a thread title that described the problem, like Sum columns based on multiple criteria and putting that as a locked sticky in the Tips & Tutorials section (and clearing out threads that don't belong there) would work better. If we had the title of that forum amended to say "Tips & Tutorials - Check here first for solutions" or put some such note in the rules (because there are a few people who actually read them ), maybe we could help people help themselves a bit more.
