I have a baby boy (almost 14 months old now) and he is the best thing that ever happened to me... he is a great kid. To tell you the truth before he was born I was hoping for a girl because of some of the same reasons you state and because I always thought little girls are more fun than little boys.... but I definitely think I was wrong. Sure, he is a boy, and, as they say, boys will be boys. He is a little mischievous and likes to "test" mommy and daddy quite often.... but I don't think that this is something little girls wouldn't try too. He really is a boy... his favourite words for the last 2 weeks have been "car" and "ball" and, of course, "dada"
Good luck!

Great news you've got.
When my wife was expecting, I was hoping for a girl - don't know why, just was. When my was son was born he didn't disappoint. I now spend my weekends playing football at the park - taught him to ride a two wheeled bike a fortnight ago - or garden games. It usually Lego or on the PlayStation 3 if the weather's unsuitable.
We pack his week out with extra activities after school which tire him out - football training on Monday, Beavers on Tuesday and rugby training on Wednesday with swimmig on a Sunday. He sleeps great at night
Certainly wouldn't want to be without him...

Congratulations!
I've got one of each and can honestly say they are both wonderful children, now very much grown up and both married.
Now got two beautiful grand-daughters 3½ and 4 months - happy days!

Well,
With 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren, I can honestly say that you never get rid of them!
Mind you, Granny suffers withdrawal symptoms much more acutely than Grandpa.
The only general rule is that they are lovely when little, horrible as teenagers and then lovely when they grow into adults.

congrats first of all!! kids are a great time although i don't have any myself.
little girls are lots of fun...... however, i could see myself losing it once she turned 16....
once boys reach 15 they're much easier to deal with.
