    A question of Forum protocol

After re-reading Forum Rules this looks like the place to post.

There is an old(?) thread started 7-17-2014, marked [SOLVED] 7-18-2014. (See link below.) While I ‘contributed’ I couldn’t leave this one alone. I kept working on it and believe came up with some useful solutions.

Is it considered out-of-order to post additional solution(s) to such a post? I often look at old [SOLVED] posts myself.

Thank you, ahead of time. FR

I don't think it is forbidden to contribute on that topic (although it is an older one).

(But) Probably you don't get any respond (reply) on your given solution by the OP (starter of the question).
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

If you are satisfied with the solution, please mark the question solved.

Thank you for your swift reply. I didn't exactly know what 'old' looked like.
Any advice on where how to share?

    It is up to you.

But question in the link you added, are asked frequently.

In that case I would wait for such a new question and reply on that threat.

But as already said, it is up to you (to my opinion).

Thank you, again. I'll keep looking for relevant posts like that one.

Re: A question of Forum protocol

Let me add a closing thought, a mild expansion of what has already been stated.

    1) Anyone can add alternate suggestions for any post at any time.

    2) If an existing posted solution is patently wrong, then you can politely address that and offer suggested corrections right in the thread directly with the OP and the original answerer. Courtesy is all that is required. We all make mistakes, so take care when pointing them out.

    3) Once a thread is marked as solved, any additional non-solicited additions to the thread (the OP didn't ask for followups) are fine, but do not expect any responses nor harass the thread to get responses. Post your additions for the helpfulness of the thread as a whole and move on.

    Thanks all!

Thank you. Beyond staying alert for like threads I was looking for the most likely approach for sharing what appeared to me to be a simpler and more thorough solution......respectfully submitted of course. To be sure, I found one of the posts actually inspiring.

Thank you, again for your reply.
