Yes, of course. But that's to be expected, isn't it? Or, maybe not. Who knows? The Tech Team?? Who exactly are the Tech Team? Do they have names? Do they have faces? Do they exist?

Might be due to the backups being preformed!

The server ate my post and spit out something... http://www.excelforum.com/attachment...2&d=1370808873
Again, had said Arlette that there is anyone on call on Sundays (or maybe the weekends) so probably they work a 9 - 5 shift India time Monday to Friday. So no surprise that errors are happening more often on weekends.

Cleaning up when you're done. Mark your thread [SOLVED] if you received your answer.
seems to have settled down now, matbe it was the backup running
It wasnt the backup. The backup finishes by sunday evening India time. However, we were facing some database issues which were making the server very slow. I myself faced that issue about 3-4 hrs before you all (based on your post time). I contacted the tech lead last night who was looking into it immediately. He said there is some issue and he will check into it.
If I have helped, Don't forget to add to my reputation (click on the star below the post)

Forum is tragically slow at the moment for me - taking up to 60 seconds for pages to open.

Yes, the tech team is working on rectifying the issue. Should be up soon.
Thanks Arlu - FYI, it's improved a good bit since I posted.
More than 8 hours this situation for me....

Sorry to hear that, Fotis - it can be very frustrating when that happens.
Arlu, everything seems ok again for me now.
Well 17 hours later and just logged on, seems to be no change. Are the tech team still backing up!
Had enough, off again. Hopefully it might be better later on!![]()
Got this message again today:
header('HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable'); header('Status: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable'); header('Retry-After: 17200'); // in seconds print "TEST123";
The forum has been slow today and there was a downtime since the tech team is working on fixing the issues.
really slow again today, taking ages for a page to load![]()
That's my experience too. It's been suggested before and hopefully no one slaps my hand here but perhaps fixing old issues (such as this) before adding new features (such as the commercial services) that could potentially make things worse is the best course of action?
