What's with the un-clickable rep? I've never seen this before - I can't see the post that the rep was applied to - there's no hyperlink like the others - Just black text

That happens when the post for which you received rep has been deleted.
If I have helped, Don't forget to add to my reputation (click on the star below the post)
Don't forget to mark threads as "Solved" (Thread Tools->Mark thread as Solved)
Use code tags when posting your VBA code:
Your code here
It definitely hasn't, it's one of these...

If i check the history of the thread, there is 1 deleted thread from Cutter and 1 from you.
Maybe there was a duplicate post created which was deleted and you happened to get a rep on that one.
Cutter may be able to throw some light here.
aaahhhggrrrr not the duplicate posts again!!!!
On another issue, shouldn't I be notified if my posts are deleted and/or a note put in the thread saying a post was deleted?
I am just saying thats a possibility. But Cutter will be able to explain more. I have sent him a PM asking him for his input.
Thanks Arlette
What about my other question?
What other question?
On another issue, shouldn't I be notified if my posts are deleted and/or a note put in the thread saying a post was deleted?
There would be a valid reason, if not, Cutter wouldnt simply delete the post. Lets see what he has to say.
I'm sure there isI wasn't doubting Cutter's integrity, merely the fact that if my posts are being deleted; I'd like to be notified, isn't that functionality built into vBulletin?
since I'm now asking more about a change in process, would you mind moving this thread to the suggestions for improvement please?
As far as i know, once a post is deleted, the user doesnt get to know about it, unless they check back and remember what they had posted.
Sure, i will move it for you.
I don't believe there is an option to notify you if a post gets deleted but a post can be hard or soft deleted. soft deleting leaves an indicator in the thread that the post was deleted whereas hard deleting just removes it from the thread completely

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to
Just got your PM, Arlette. As you guessed in post #4 I simply deleted a duplicated post to clean up the thread. Nothing untoward about it. And, no Kyle, you shouldn't be notified when I do that. It's not deleting your intended contribution to the thread, it's just removing duplicated content that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Thanks Cutter. I think that resolves Kyle's issue.
Thanks Cutter, since I asked this to be moved to the suggestions for improvement board, my request still stands.
I don't see why we can't be notified if our posts are deleted. An email notification would be sufficient
Once a post is hard-deleted, it is removed from the database too. So there is no way a user could be intimated.
Though, i could ask the tech team for some guidance on this.
Usually, posts are deleted when there are double posts. This is to reduce the clutter. Why would you want to be intimated about the double posts. Otherwise, posts are not deleted.
Please Arlette, if you could.Originally Posted by arlu1201
It's a common courtesy thing, I'm posting something on a public forum as such I'd expect the courtesy of being told if someone has deleted my post. I'm sure it will always be because of double posting. I'm not trolling here and I really don't want to return to past events, but posts haven't always been deleted purely because they were repeated, so I'd just like a little notification. On less controversial ground, the posts from the competition board were removed for a time - would have been nice to be notified.
I know not everyone may want notifications so I'd be happy for it to be an opt-in in the CP
If I may suggest; the Mods should/could restrict themselves to using only the "Soft" delete. It would probably be helpful for all to see the number of posts that require deletion due to duplication, spamming, etc.
I can't recall if Simon's/RoyUK's guidelines included direction to the Mods on this, but perhaps it could be established? i.e. - when to use a hard delete.

It's as simple as adding this http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=241248
