Interesting. apparently what I'm trying to post is causing the error? It does it here too. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it, and i took out all the Bold/Italic/Color codes on the whole post. It's just a choose/vlookup/date manipulation formula
Looks like it's the formula itself, I can't comment if i include the formula I used to solve the problem someone was having.
It's a simple VLOOKUP/CHOOSE with date manipulation with a nested array {}'s in the Vlookup (2c 5r size), and is being blocked by the firewall at XF?
{"COM",1;"Multi-COM",2;"Monthly",3;"Semi-Annual",4;"Annual",5}
weird. that's the only non-completely-normal part of the formula.
all other formulas nested are: choose, text, vlookup, if, day, month, year, today
thoughts? Is there an admin around I can email the formula to directly to take a look at what might be causing it? I can't send it in a PM on here either... admins only...I'd be emailing from work so i'd prefer not to email some random person ;D

I had that problem last week with a "less than" symbol in a formula. I separated it from the preceding and following characters with an extra space and it posted ok.
Ben Van Johnson
I do have a less-than in the formula....
=CHOOSE(TEXT(VLOOKUP(F2,{"COM",1;"Multi-COM",2;"Monthly",3;"Semi-Annual",4;"Annual",5},2,0),"0"),H2,TEXT(IF(DAY(TODAY())<15,DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),15),DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())+1,15)),"m/d/yyyy"),H2,IF(H2_<_TODAY(),DATE(YEAR(H2),MONTH(H2)+6,DAY(H2)),H2),H2)
Yay! Thanks!
Interestingly, I only had to change one of them? :o

Hi Speshul, ( Hi Ben )
There is a few things that that kick in the firewall. The less than sign followed by at least 4 characters ( but not all characters ) is the most common one.
So like these will not post *anywhere
<_TOD__<TODA __<TODAYJKG
But these are OK
<15,D __ <1,5, __ <TOD __ < hsgfjhgfg __ <T ODAYDGD __ <TOD AY __ <[ODA __ <[ODAYGJHG __ <TOD[
( In the first three , ( <_TOD__<TODA __<TODAYJKG ) , to get them to post I use another workaround – the “black character trick”. For details of that and other similar problems and work a rounds see the links below. The usually applied workaround is to add a space after the < ___ < bfdg )
*Posting in different Sub Forums and things like wrapping in code tags usually make no difference for most of these things.
