Power Query Re set at text value

Hi,

I have been trying to do an accumulation using Accumulate or Generate which restarts when a text value is encountered,
I have been able to do this using try / otherwise , but have been trying to write using if / then/ else but have not yet been able;

So the generate method using try ;

the closest I've got using if is

which inserts a 0 where a text value occurs, but that's as far as I've got. any suggestions?

Well that certainly works, not too great on custom functions, so am going to be a while taking this apart ;
