Power Query List.Transform syntax

Hello,
When using List.Transorm I've found that ,

and

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

both work, can someone explain how they are working, I know when accidently putting 'each' into a custom column I've turned it into a function, so is that what's happening in the second case,

these were taken from within groups so I've attached that.

That's what I thought, I think i'll stick with that as I often find the longer version here on in DAX might be harder to type
but make it easier to try an understand what's happening. Text.From on it's own doesn't mean much.
