You can turn on Windows Firewall and prevent the program from communicating, or download other firewall software (free or not-free) to do the same. Most of the available software firewalls are more configurable than Windows Firewall. Some do affect performance and internet speed, but I haven't used a personal firewall in a long time.
If you're behind a router, you might also be able to configure it to block specific applications/executable files from accessing the internet, or specific ports if you know which one the program is using.
I can't give you specific steps for any of these options, as they differ based on option chosen. That's why there's Google, though.

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as "SOLVED".

How?
New quick method:
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.
Or you can use this way:
How to mark a thread Solved
Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save
