I specialise in matching staff supply to work demand, and Excel is the preferred software many turn to represent a range of rotas, rosters, and staff scheduling solutions.
I use Excel as a 'tool for thought' especially when trying to scope the initial requirement of shift patterns. I have found knowing what doesn't work is probably more important than what does - you can spend a lot of time wasting energy on problems that simply do not have a solution.
I am interested in the staff scheduling problems people post. I hope to contribute solutions to some of the problems that may arise from time to time, and where appropriate upload the results in an Excel format where I think it will help.
