Finally ran into something in Excel that really had me stumped so I posted. The answer was stupid... simple, but stupid *facepalm* While waiting, decided to start answering questions. I have been working with Excel in a professional setting for 9 years now. I have authored easily over 1000 workbooks, from very simple "I'm a manager, and I have no clue" workbooks, to complex books that do everything from sending emails, to creating calendar appointments, to scraping websites for data for full automation, Power Queries, etc.
