Hi first time user and hoping someone will know my exact problem.

I have dates in one column which are for example 21.4.2016 I then create another column to turn them into Apr-16 for example using =TEXT(J2, "MMM-YY"). This works and then I paste those results over the 21.4.2016 so they all read Apr-16 or Mar-16 or Dec-16 whatever is the answer.

When I then go to Pivot and list the customers down one side and the dates across the way it arranges them alphabetically and not in date order. So Apr first instead of Jan.

Not sure if it is to do with me abbreviating i.e. Jan and not January.

Sorting this issue would save me a lot of time as currently I then cut and paste into the right order.
