Count data up to before there is a blank

Hi

How do I put one formula to count a row of data that has blank in between but I want it to count those prior to the the blank?
For example:
A B C D E F G Answer
1 Y Y Y Blank Y Y Y 3
2 Y Y Blank Blank Y Y 2
3 Y Y Y Y Y Blank Blank 5


I have 100 rows , all I want to do is put a forumla in the "answer" column" and it tells me the number of "Y" before it has a gap.
