Accept suggested text

I am running Excel 2011 and cannot work out how to accept the suggest text or numbers when entering new cell data into the sheet. As soon as I enter something a drop down box of suggested text from data in the sheet is suggested, but it is inconvenient to have to use the pointer to click on the one I want. There must be a keyboard shortcut?

If I have a combo box with a list of items to select, when I click on the combo box, I can use the arrow key and enter key to highlight my selection. Can you not do this?

Yes, I just thought there should be a keyboard shortcut as with Excel 2007.

Ah! Here is MS link to their Keyboard shortcuts for XL 2011. Can't help beyond that as I work in the WIN environment. My wife has a MAC and I cannot comprehend the OS and it drives me nuts when she is stuck as nothing makes sense to me.
