Google Sheets. CF Alternating rows in filtered view.

Sorry I looked everywhere but can not find the answer.

Google Sheets.

I have a hockey team with numbers 1-98 down Column A but only have around 23 numbers (players) used per year so I have the spreadsheet filtered by another column F that indicates if they are Active with a "Y" for yes.

So my spreadsheet is always filtered by Column F and when I use conditional formatting to alternate colors on the sheet of course it is a mess as it really is doing the original unfiltered sheet.

My question is there a way to get it to alternate colors of the rows in filter view.

Instead of using Conditional formatting to colour alternate rows, use Alternating colors.

The alternating colours works on filtered data.. take another look at the image i provided in post # 2, it clearly shows row 3 is hidden but the alternating colours still working properly only on every second visible row.

There is no formulas or script that can do anything different...

There are scripts that do iseven or isodd row conditional formatting, and there are scripts that do alternate banding.. which is exactly what "Alternating colours" is!

If the Alternating colours is not working for you then i recommend you share a copy of your file so i can check why it doesn't work for you when it works for me and everyone else.
