Google Sheets: How to convert non-date/time into date/time ?

Hello everyone!

I have values like this:
2021.02.07
5:00:00
in separate cells
but it is not a date/time type , I am using google sheet , and I want to make it to date/time type so I can add and subtract date/time with no issues , any advice ?

FYI , each value is in separate cell and I will process each separately..

Thanks for your time.

If 2021.02.07 and 5:00:00 were in separate cells, say, B3 and C3, respectively, you'd need to use a formula to combine them into a date+time. Try

Formula: copy to clipboard

Format the cells with such formulas with appropriate date+time number formats.

I doubt formatting will changing anything - all formatting does is change the appearance of the cell, not the underlying contents.

Dont know sheets much, but there may be a Text2Columns function similar to excel, you could make the change through that
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Perfect ,, yes ,it works now, this is MAGIC it looked like that:
2/8/2021 21:00:00

So I added only the first part

, the problem "not a big issue"is to sort the year before the month
but I am really thankful , very good idea
