Highlight cells based on date

So what I have is a softball league schedule with multiple games at multiple venues for each date. What I want to do is do an alternate row highlight, only at each change in dates. Think: =MOD(ROW(),2)=0, but instead of simply every other row, highlight each row for the date 5/26, then no highlight for each row dated 5/27, then highlight each row dated 5/28. I've looked all over, and the conditional formatting formulas all return the same error about no intersections or arrays allowed. Any help would be appreciated. Mac Excel 2011.

Thanks, but it's not working for me? When I click the button if gives me a 'runtime error 1004 no cells were found' error, and all of the rows collapse.

OK, it works in 2013 on the PC, but not on Mac 2011.

Can I change the colors in the macro? I tried, but it just made them all one color when I clicked the button again.
