I am having a problem in Microsoft Excel for Mac. (I am assuming it is a problem specifically for the Mac version since I have been using Excel on a PC for years without this issue, but I could be wrong. I am using Microsoft Excel for Mac 2011.) I have a file with multiple tabs. This issue is only happening to ONE of those tabs.
This tab has multiple rows and cells that go on and on. For reference, I have reduced my display to see only columns A-P and rows 1-42. (There are several more columns and rows worth of data) By using the arrow keys I can move around from cell to cell normally without any issues. However, this changes once I go past what is displayed.
For example, if I use the down arrow and move to row 43 or higher, my screen does not follow it. I can see to the left of the formula bar it gives me the current selected cell (i.e. K60) and the formula bar will show me the data/formula. I just cannot see it. The only way I can see it is if I use the double finger on the mouse pad to move scroll down to it or I use the scroll bar on the side of the sheet. So by scrolling down to it I see the cell K60 highlighted like normal.
Once I scroll down and can see K60 I have issues again with the arrows. Say I have K60 in my view in about the middle of the screen. (I can see columns C-T and rows 39-80.) If I use the arrow button to go up it will move to K59 but the whole screen shifts. Row 59 automatically becomes the bottom visible row on my display and column A is now seen on the far left. (After one click of the up arrow, I see columns A-P and rows 17-59.) If I continue to click the up arrow, it will continue to move up to K58, K57, K56, etc. but the screen moves too. So when it goes to K58, that becomes the bottom row of my screen. When I move up to K57, that row becomes the bottom of my screen. It all goes back to normal once I hit row 42. (Similar when moving from left to right.)
Another issue is when I try to edit something in the formula bar. So say I use the scroll bar to have K60 in my view. If I click the formula bar the display automatically jumps back to displaying columns A-P and rows 1-42. K60 is still the active cell I just can no longer see it unless I scroll back down to it.
Again, this is only happening to one tab in this file. I do not think it is a scroll lock issue, there are no frozen panes, and it is not protected. I have been searching everywhere to get help on this issue. Someone has to know what I have done to this file!
