_3) The simplest is always to copy to the clipboard before doing anything that may cause the reply window to empty.

_ For Edit ( _1) Edit . _2) Edit -- Go Advanced )
_ Another one involves hitting the Reply With Quote before attempting an Edit. Then you can copy the contents between the quotes as your back up. Then abort the Reply With Quote and Hit Edit. Then if the Reply Window empties you have your back up in the clipboard to re paste in
