Which formula are you using and in which column are the blank cells?

Fotis,
The formula is: IF(G4="",COUNTIF($AP4:$AP8,"Fair"))
Column G is the one that has some blanks;
Column AP is the one from which different categories (i.e. Poor, Fair, Good) should be counted.
Looking forward to your quick response.
Your formula in simple words says:
If g4=blank, then count the cells in range ap4:ap8 that include the word "fair". So formula counts ONLY if G4="".
What is wrong on that?
What i actually want is for it not to count anything if there is a blank in cell G4.

Please see attached as i had described earlier.
in aq1, you have this formula.

this gives 3 as result, which is correct because,...
ap1,ap2,ap4 have the word "Fair"
But you realize in that D3 is blank and i do not want it to count it. That is the problem i am trying to get rid of.
