    Unhappy ListBox Transparency

    Hello Everyone!

I am in desperate need of setting transparency up for a ListBox. I have searched far and wide online for a solution but have come up empty handed. Most have simply dismissed the idea of it due to "reading a listbox in transparent mode would be a distraction". However, I have attached a UserForm that I could really use some help with on this issue. As you can see, adding a ListBox to the UseForm in this particular situation throws off the look if it is not transparent. Please please please view the .xlsm for any suggestions. I would really hate to have to start all over just because I didn't know I could change that setting in a ListBox. Thank you! Any help or suggestions is extremely appreciated!

Why do you not simply set Backcolor? It will look same as comboboxes you have.

    Re: ListBox Transparency

    Hello Izandol,

THank you for your quick reply, but unfortunately I don't think that will work. The listbox needs to sit on top in a "transparent mode" so as not to mess up the transition of the shadows that come over the lis box from the animated buttons that pop up when you do a mouse drag over. If you have an example of this that maybe I'm not understanding, then please give it a try with my .xlsm that I uploaded. Again, any attempt is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Re: ListBox Transparency

I do not know that this is possible with listbox. If you will make listbox transparent with API function like SetLayeredWindowAttributes there will be hole in the form and you will be able to see worksheet behind. I think you have made difficult path for yourself. Also I think this is much work with not so much reward - if I am user of this system I will become annoyed with it soon.

    Re: ListBox Transparency

    Izandol,

Ha-Ha yes, I'm sure most may be annoyed by the GUI I have setup. But I'm striving to give the user a more "engaging feel" when using the UserForm. Or maybe I'm just bored. Either ways, I'm just trying to see how far I can take a workbook to mimic a full fledged standalone UI. Well I'll keep this honey of a thread [Unsolved] in hopes for more flies to come and learn something or give me some adivice. Thank you for all your help thus far

    Re: ListBox Transparency

Why not simply tone down the enlarged blue buttons with massive shadow.
If the button simlpy changed colour you would not have the problem.
    Cheers
