    Userform queries

    Hi All

    I'm relatively new to VBA.

I have designed a UserForm for other people to use and have used VBA to hide Excel, before loading the form, as some of the users "don't like it".

If I use the close button, I can reshow Excel, but if I need to edit the form, and Ctrl+Break, Excel goes and I cannot easily restart the same file.

    Any suggestions for this, please?

With Excel hidden, the UserForm is larger than the screen. I do not have the slider to move up and down the form, and tabbing through boxes takes the cursor into the bottom half of the form (the part that is offscreen), but does not allow the user to know what is being asked.

Finally, there are several option buttons with separate Group Names. How can I find out which option button is selected? I've used a naming convention OptButton1, OptButton2, etc., and would like to have optButton1 = value of 1, optButton2 = value of 2, etc.

i have found a website that would necessitate a looping routine listing each button in turn, but as one group has 16 options, I was hoping to programme it such that I look through the group name and identify which option in each group has a TRUE value.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you post a copy of the workbook with any sensitive data removed?

    Re: Userform queries

I'm trying to attach the file, but it is being rejected as too large (3.3 MB).

I cannot see why it is so large, it is a .xlsm 2007 file, but has only three sheets, one of which is a large click button to start the form, the second around 50 columns to load the data into (no data is loaded), a lookup table with around 50 cols, but very little data and the form and coding.

Is there any extract from the code that would do, or just copy-paste the code?

I've added the two code modules in as txt files.

Please accept me advance apologies if I'm meant to highlight in any way that these are macros, but I've tried to name them so that it is obvious.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

If you select "Export File" when right clicking on the userform, you should be able to export just the form without the entire workbook and post that.

Have exported as described and have two files, with the suffix of .frm and .frx, so have zipped them to be able to attach them.

My computer is telling me the zip file is corrupt. Can you post again?

    Re: Userform queries

    frmWTN(frm).txt frmWTN(frx).txt

Please note that I have renamed the file extension to txt from the name in brackets i.e. frmWTN(frm).txt should be named frmWTN.frm

Hopefully, this time it will work!

    Thanks for persisting

It seems to have been turned in to a bunch of html code from this forum. Any way you can further reduce the size of the workbook? Add it to a compressed zip file.

    Re: Userform queries

I cannot see why the workboook is so large, so I think I'm going to have to build it again from scratch, as zipping it still leaves it > 3 mb.

Sorry to waste your time, Nu2Java.
