Help on categorising items based on certain key words in text

    Hello

I am looking for help with the following.

I expect that a macro is needed but unfortunately I can’t do it.

I am looking to label an excel list of engineering drawings with 3 separate categories.

The categories are decided by key words in any of three columns:

    - Drawing
    - Description
    - Drawing Title

I have attached a file that explains in detail and gives a mock sample of drawings.

Thanks very much for any help

    padraigb8,

Welcome to the forum. Attached a modified version of your worksheet. It has a button named "Categorize Data" which is assigned to the following macro:

    Hi Tigeravatar,

you seem to be knowledgeable and helpful. I am working on an excel sheet with has about 3k entries(rows) and 4 such columns. my aim is to categorize them on a click of a button (like you did with the file above) and fill the columns with appropriate entries. the file attached is only a sample but it would be great if you could suggest how to do it.

    Thank you!
