    before save problem

I found another issue with my beforesave. Everything seems to work just fine and it looks like the file is being saved. I do not get any errors, however when I try and look for the file in the area I selected to save it, the file is not there. I do a search in start and see the properties say it is there but it says the folder is empty. Here is my beforesave code: Could it be that since I have a template that is .xlsm instead of .xltm that it is not doing the save as the .xls correct? Or does that even matter? I have the .xlsm set up to auto clear so they can continue to use the same form over and over to enter their data and then save each time they are done. I see these files are somewhere saved, I just do not know where they went.

    Hi,

I don't see any code that actually saves the workbook. e.g.

    Re: before save problem

UGH. I am so at my whits end. It saves the file but then it wants to restart and then it closes my current workbook when the main workbook needs to remain open so they can continue to enter their data without closing out. They have 10 or more audits to enter at a time and they do not like the file save as option because it closes the blank so-called template workbook and they want that to remain open and they enter the data and saveas whatever new file name is, they use the claimnumber, membername and date of service and it sets it up as autoclear everything they put in. It worked perfect when I had a button next to my validate button that was save but then the manager of that area said no, they dont want it that way. so i had to recode and now this piece is not working no matter what I do. I am about to just tell the mgr look, I am not an Excel/VBA coder. I know SAS. So, hire someone that knows VBA.

    Re: before save problem

I did put your info in and now it gets stuck on this restarting mode, closes out my so-called template workbook which is not what i want. Why does this VBA to be so much different than SAS and why does mgmnt think if you know 1 code you know them all. If that were the case I would be making millions a year cuz I would know all coding language. And surely not working here.

    Re: before save problem

Ok. I made this change and now it does the save as and keeps my so-called template up and does the other stuff. However, now when I try to open the file I just created I get this error:

The file you you are trying to open is in a different format than specified by the file extension. verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. do you want to open the file now? I can click on yes and it does open but how do I code to say when I write this go from .xlsm to .xls in my beforesave and make sure that .xls I am saving is not a macro enabled workbook because I think that is why it is asking this question. I want to save as a non-macro workbook. Here is my new code:
