Compare an email address to a list of Names

I just put this together but found a couple of issues with it. For example, it doesn't seem like it works if the cases are off and it definitely can't compare email addresses to the list of names in the worksheet. The only thing I found that works is if you type in Middle (from the example in the 1st post), then it will exit the for loop and give you an integer other than 0. Please let me know if you have any advice on how to improve this code. Thank you!

You could shorten the loop code to this...

For x = 2 To lRow
    If  InStr(1, rolesSheet.Cells(x, 1), eName) <> 0 Then Exit For
Next x

Another method would be to use the Like operator...

For x = 2 To lRow
  ' Compare both in lower case to elimate case sensitivity
    If  LCase(rolesSheet.Cells(x, 1)) Like LCase("*" & eName & "*") Then Exit For

I would need to see a copy of your workbook. Email addresses can vary greatly and the more samples there are available to test the code with, the better.
