    Automatic update of dates

    Dear Excel Gurus,

I would like to ask for your kind help.

I need to develop a planning-tracking sheet for a service delivery. The production phase consits of several steps all set with a delivery date. These steps follows in sequence so if the date of the predecessor task changes (e.g. due to a delay), it affect the all dates in the chain.

    So, lets say I have cells A1 - E1 filled like this: Date1 / Date2 / Date3 / Date4 / Date5 / Ready for Service Date
All 6 cells are formated to dd.mm.yyyy. What formula or code could automatically update the delivery dates in case I change any date in the chain?

I would really appreciate if you could help me to solve this out.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi

Be sure that best way to describe your problem is to upload a sample workbook.

Be sure that all sensitive data removed, showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that.

To attach a small sample workbook.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Re: Automatic update of dates

    Hi Fotis,

I have uploaded an example sheet to the original post. So the goal is to automatize the update of the dates of the successor tasks if the date of a predecessor task is changed. Example: Task 1 planned to be finished on 28.02.2014. If I change this date to for example 05.03.2014, I want the dates of Tasks 2, 3, 4, 5, Ready for Service are moved accordingly.

This sheet is to track the production process and see how possible changes affect the delivery dates of partial tasks and the overal deadline.

    Thank you
