Record a macro to update links to password protected workbooks

Hi,

Am new to this forum and looking for an easy way to refresh links to other workbooks, all to source workbooks which are password protected.

I have a master workbook which pulls in various values and I simply want to enable the user of the master workbook to refresh the links without having to input the various passwords. Can I do this without having to open the source workbooks?

Or if I have to open the source workbooks as part of the Macro, is there an easy command to then close them down?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem, I want to update links to external data automatically when I open the workbook containing the links. The following works for me:

My guess is that if you prefer to turn this into a 'regular' macro, all you have to do is turn the private sub into a normal sub and change the name of the sub to something like update_links().
