Insert Row/Column without formatting

Every time I use

.Rows(CtrRowCount).Insert Shift:=xlDown

or

.Columns(CtrLastColumn).Insert Shift:=xlShiftRight

the new row or column is formatted to a row or column beside it. How do I insert rows/columns with no formatting?
