Date/Time Stamp/User name for drop down changes

Hello! This is my first post and I appreciate any help you can give.

We are trying to track changes when users make selections from a drop down list ("Not Completed", "Review Complete" and "Review complete w/Comments") so that the date/time stamp plus the username are populated. There are up to 50 users who access the sheet. We need the date/time/stamp/username to remain unchanged as subsequent users access the sheet to make their own selections. The other problem is that this would need to apply to multiple columns (we do this on a weekly basis, so there are 52 columns which will require this functionality.)

I have no idea how to create macros. We jerry-rigged the current sheet by using last year's sheet (the creator of which is no longer with our company). We thought we had it up and running, but several users complained that they can't access the sheet or there is a run-time error.

I'm not sure if this contributes to the problem, but most of the users have Excel 2003, but some of them (like me) have 2007.

Sorry this is so long-winded. Thank you so much for your help!past dues 2014.xls

Here is an example to get you started............the entries are in A2 thru A20 and the logging info is stored in the cell's comments.

Re: Date/Time Stamp/User name for drop down changes

Thank you for looking into this - it's not quite what we're looking for. They would like the Date/Time/User Name to appear in the cell directly below the drop down box from which the select is made. They like the format of the one they have - so, they can click the drop down in cell B3 and the date/time/username populates in cell B4, for example.

    I really appreciate your help!

Re: Date/Time Stamp/User name for drop down changes

Hi, I'm still having this issue - compounded now with the fact that anytime the sheet is password protected, it generates a Run-Time error.

The original response didn't quite get us to where we want to be. We had macros which worked last year, but now refuse to work at all. Please help!
