Getting rid of active content in a file

I have a macro that is creating seperate workbooks. These new workbooks have no code in them, and should have no external links or other active content. However everytime I open those workbooks in Excel the warning about disabling active content displays. How can I check for and get rid of the active content in those workbooks?

    There are found in
File-Options-advanced. You can tick/untick. For e.g., If you look at the bottom of the page, you have "General" where you can break a link book.

Sorry, AB33. I apparently wasn't clear enough. I need to be able to find the active content within VBA and remove it from the new workbooks. Changing the File Options to allow the content through is not an option. These are supposed to be files delivered to clients and therefore should not have any active content.

You have mentioned "external links" in your post

    What is active content?

Re: Getting rid of active content in a file

That's part of what I'm trying to figure out. As far as I know, there shouldn't be any 'active content' - however Microsoft has defined it. There are no links to other files, no macros, and no Active X objects. I've looked through a list of things that will trigger the 'active content' warning from Microsoft's website, but cannot think of anywhere that I have added any of those things.

However, this is a pretty complex macro I've created, and it is always possible I've overlooked something.

So I need a means to find whatever active content exists and remove it. Ideally, I'll want to go back and fix the code generating the content, but a cludge removing it after the fact will work just as well for now.

I am not sure if this helps.

Go to file- options-Trust centre- Trust centre settings- Privacy option- check if under documents settings Remove personal information is ticked.

That is how I do it any way.
