    Conditional Formatting +-4 days

    Hello,

I have a scenario that tracks patient contact dates. The client has a 8 day window in which they want to contact a patient about a followup visit.

    There are 4 criteria:

    1. Color the cell yellow if today's date is within 4 days before the date in that cell.
    2. Color the cell green if today's date is the same as the date in that cell.
    3. Color the cell pink if today's date is up to 4 days after the date in that cell.
    4. If today's date is over 4 days after the date in that cell, make the cell color red.

I've been looking but not finding anything close to that. I'm just learning Excel, so, I don't have lots of experience...but, I've watched videos on YouTube and searched here.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dalmuti (Louise)

    Hi Louise

What version of Excel are you using?

Please post a sample workbook (with any confidential/sensitive information removed) indicating the column(s) you want highlighted.

    Hi TMS,

The workbook is all sample data. I have 4 tabs. I highlighted the dates on tab Site123. I'd hope I can figure out how to do the same thing on the other sheets.

    I hope the attachment worked.

    Thanks,

Have a look at the attachment - check the 4 conditional formatting rules applied to A1:A31.

    Hi Louise

OllyXLS has provided a generic example using dates in column A. Might be worth trying to apply the Conditional Formatting rules to your data.

The trick is to select all the cells where you want to apply the CF format and write the formula to relate to the first cell.

Shout out if you have a problem.

Thanks OllyXLS and TMS - that was enough to get me going.

Sorry for the example which didn't match your file! Read your first post, started writing an example file, went to mop up puppy poo, came back and posted, then spotted you'd uploaded a specific example!

    Glad it helped, anyway.
