I’ve designed several Apps in Excel 2003, which uses forms (with macros embedded) for them to function. We distribute these to remote users via website downloads.

When the user opens the downloaded file for the first time, they get the standard Microsoft “Enable Macros” message. The background screen they see is the normal Excel view for their machine with toolbars (ribbons 2007/2010) and sheet tabs etc. This happens irrespective of how I finalise the files before I upload them. The result looks unprofessional and confuses less experienced users.

Is there a way of configuring the download package so that when opened for the first time it shows as a full screen with Toolbars/ribbons and tabs hidden?
