in the attached sheet every time I hit the start button it says password invalid ensure cap locks not on. this only happens when I use on machines with office 2010. can some one please look at the code and explain why it won't work. it works fine on office 2013 machines.

I don't know whats happening at both of your end but it's running smoothly without any error popups. After running the code its entering the Time In and ends the code
May be OP can protect the sheet using UserInterfaceOnly Option so that the password is not needed when the code runs.
But the Protection Code should be added in the On Workbook Open Event since UserInterFaceOnly will get cleared from excel memory once the workbook is closed.
Six, I meant that when I clicked on the "start new batch" button, it opened up a box asking for a PW (it also started printing, too)
New to VBA any idea on whats causing the issue ? and what I can do to fix it.
Issue is not with start new batch but with start time.
Issue is with the start stop function for each line. works fine on my main PC but not the one running 2010. it says ensure caps isn't on.
Please be specific, because there is lot of start buttons in your workbook and not sure you are talking about which start button?
I am not encountering any error asking to supply the password please add some screen shots and always provide cell references and the result you are looking for so that it will help us in giving exact solution to your issue
its the six start buttons that go with the lines. better way put is maybe the 6 start buttons to the left of the stop buttons. Not the start new batch button, that works fine.
