Taking row of spreadsheet and putting into main one

I have a bunch of spreadsheets in a folder and I need to take one line of each spreadsheet (which is in the same place on every one) into a master spreadsheet.

I am always adding to the spreadsheets in the folder.

Is there a way to have my master spreadsheet look out for changes in the folder and when there are changes add the row into it?

Hopefully I've explained it well enough

Hi mattburley

When you add a spreadsheet, is the line you want always in the same place? Once you have a spreadsheet, will the line that you are interested in never change?

If the answers are both "Yes", I am thinking of a system that will compare the date/time of the file with the last known file and update the master if any file is newer. Do not get too excited yet - I have no idea how to check the date/time (but I am sure that someone out there will know )

Regards

Another option might be to count how many files you have, and compare to how many entries you have. Either way will require VBA, so I will move this thread to that forum for better exposure
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
