is there a way to do this without a Macro?

One of your forum members help me with this code so I would first like to thank them.

That being said, I have a few questions:

First, I need to be able to distribute this workbook to multipule employees so is there a way to do it without using a marco that has to be enabled?

Next, the code itself seems flawed. when I click on a cell it highlights the entire row whether there was a selection or not. This does not help me.

Also, the program runs slow or crashes each time i try to make a selection.

I am making a roster to track the dates information is trasnmitted to my personnel. I have a table that lets someone select how the person was contacted e.i. phone, text, e-mail.

What I want is when an option in the dropdown is selected for the other cells in that row to change to a red or yellow color. Since there are over 300 names color coding will help me quickly id who has been contacted.

I have attached a sample of what i have so far. Any help anyone could offer would be highly appericated.... Along with a brief explination since i'd like to be able to do it myself in the future.

Why didn't you feed back to xladept in your previous thread and point out the shortcomings that you have found with the macro he gave to you? There is no need to start a new thread, as this one is identical in need to that one.

Solus Rankin and yudlugar - Unless I missed something, which I very well may have, conditional formatting will only change that cell which is selected or changed. I want to whole row so it makes for a quick and easy read and everything on then sheet is dress right dress.

Pete - Because I felt doing this without a script is significantly different from accomplishing it with one. That being said, why did you post in my thread just to complain? Is a new post such a problem that you were forced to post here instead of sending a private message? Please come to my thread with constructive advice or personal message me if you simply wish to lecture persons on internet Etiquette.

It is common courtesy to feedback to someone who has tried to help you (i.e. xladept), even to say "no, that's not quite what I wanted". You have posted both threads in the Programming/VBA forum, so it is natural that xladept would assume in your previous thread that you wanted a macro solution, and you did not make it clear to him that you wanted a formula-based solution. Even though you say in this thread that solving your problem without a macro is significantly different, you have still posted it in the programming forum rather than the Functions forum.

This Forum is quite keen on getting posters to abide by the rules of the community, so I suggest you read them at the top of the page - in particular, Rules 5 (Duplicate Thread), 6 (Common Courtesy), 7 (Ignoring Moderators' and Senior Contributors' Requests), and even 9 (Acknowledge Responses). If flagrant non-compliance is reported to a poster only through a PM, then other posters will not get the message. Sanctions available to Moderators include issuing Infractions and even banning posters who break the rules, so you should consider yourself fortunate to just get a "friendly" comment and advice from me.
