Exclamation Macro To Copy Data Down Column

    Hi,

What I need is a macro to look in column ‘A’ for the first code e.g. 1111 and then copy this code down in the blank cells in column ‘A’ until it finds the next code i.e. 2121, this should be repeated until there is no more data in column but the last code should be copied down to the last row where there is data in column ‘B’. I normally need to do this on a weekly basis where there could be hundreds of lines of data (with the data and numbers vary every week) so a macro would be really useful

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

    Many thanks in advance

    Thanks again

    Rob,
You do not need a code, as excel has a built-in function.
    Steps
Highlight the blank columns you want to fill in
-CLRT plus G will take you to "Go to"
    _ Choose Special
    Tick Blank from selected menu
Blanks cells will be auto highlighted
    on A2 type= select A1(copy A1)
Then do not just enter, but CRTL plus Enter will fill in the rest of the rows.

I have attached a code and the working formula

    AB33,

many thanks for you reply it worked well, but I ideally I would like a macro to automate it as other non Excel literate people will be using the final file.

Any ideas for the macro code ??

    Rob,
The first sheet output is from the attached code. Did you see the code in the module?
