Hi,
I know I can lock the excel workbook Tool/option/security or when i save general option but is there way lock with VBA ? so is there macro when you tty to open file it ask for password to open.

You can apply passwords through VBA, but excel's security is notoriously weak and easy to get around
1. Use code tags for VBA. [code] Your Code [/code] (or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Yes this can be done, but it will not be very secure. I am not able to do it, but many other members can, I am just letting you know that it will not be very secure, anyone with some VBA knoledge may be able to get around it
