Custom Ribbon

I have some macros I would like to give someone else. Problem is they don't know really what to do with them. I know how to create buttons and attach macros to the buttons but is there a way to create a custom ribbon with buttons and macros attached? I could then give that to my co-workers and they could just press the button! Seems like I did this in earlier versions of excel by just adding a custom button in the tool bars, but is there a better way?

If you are just providing macros that work on any workbook you probably want to create an addin.
