i need an order number generator macro please

Hi all,
I need to be able to generate an order number from one spreadsheet and assign it to another spreadsheet which will contain the data for that order number and then using the lookup function ill copy the data from the order back to the order number spreadsheet any help would be really appreciated

Insufficient information provided. Please let us know,what kind of order numbers you want to generate i.e. only numbers or numbers prefixed with a specific text. Better you provide some examples.

sorry i need the numbers to be sequencial and from an exisitn list ie if the previous order number is 100232 i need the next number generated to be 100233 and then i need to copy that number accross to a data sheet and apply it to the first row first column and then i need to use the lookup function to transfer the data from that row back to the order number sheet and then i need the macro to step down to the next row on the data sheet with data and apply another order number and perfom the same functions again until it finds there are no more data rows in the data sheet left at which point i want it to stop. any help would be great
